Aac 77gr otm review
Tried some today out of a PSA 223 wylde upper. The 55gr blade tip would not cycle the gun and shot about a 2.5 inch group. The 75gr blade tip cycled, but would not do better than 2 inches. Tried some of the AAC OTM and both the 69 and 77grain loads shot right at an inch or just under. The name changed with each modification. MK 262 Mod 0 was adopted in 2002, Mod 1 came along in 2003 with the cannelure, and an improvement to temperature sensitivity came along in 2005.

The lower charge weights resulted in very low hits within the ladders but had an ES within the same charge weights of as little as 2 FPS amongst the 3 ladders. And IME, some barrels love the Horn. 75gr, some do not.For sure. I got 1.5 out of my 18” white oak but the criterion was 2+ consistently. For reference, that white oak barrel shoots 55g lake city just as well as the AAC 77g OTM. For 77s, IMO, the OTM was underperforming. I also noticed the SD was higher (24ish IIRC) with the OTMs vs like 11 with the SMKs in 20 shot strings.…

One or the other might shot better from your firearm. And so far the AAC OTM 77gr appears to work well, terminally wise. The SMK 77gr has a lot of info about it .
